The Union Public Service commission (UPSC) conducts Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination every year to recruit Grade IV officers to be placed in the Planning Commission, Planning Board, Ministry of Economic Affairs, National Sample Survey and other Allied Offices where Experts in Economics and Statistics are required.
Shortly known as IES/ISS, Indian Economic/Statistical Service offers a very attractive opening with the Indian Government establishments to graduates of the streams Economics and Statistics.
The Union Public Service Commission is conducting its Indian Economic Services (IES) and Indian Statistical Services (ISS) Exam on June 23rd, 2023 . The last date for candidates willing to apply for the same is May 09th, 2023 . The exam is scheduled to be held at 19 centres across the nation.
The Services to which recruitment is to be made on the results of this examination and the approximate number of vacancies in Junior Time Scale of the Services are given below :-
NOTE : 1 vacancy has been kept reserved for PH category candidate for Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy for Indian Statistical Service by the Government through IES/ISS Exam, 2023 and two backlog vacancies have been kept reserved for the PH Category candidates (one for Hearing Impairment Category and one for Locomotor Disability or Cerebral Palsy) in the Indian Economic Service through IES/ISS Exam, 2023.
The number of vacancies mentioned above is liable to alteration.
Reservation will be given effect to as per policy of the Govt.
