A career in market research and analytics is a good and very viable career option for B school students. The job profile involves interpreting data, formulating reports and making recommendations based upon the research findings.
In order to come up with these findings a Market Research Analyst should with the client (either internal or external) to understand, define and document the various factors that will decide the basis of his report. He then applies qualitative and quantitative techniques to interpret the data and produce substantiated recommendations. These findings are later on often presented to the clients as well.
