The eligibility conditions of the candidates who intend to pursue Plasma Physics are concerned, they must basically have an undergraduate degree (with physics and mathematics). Plasma physics can be studied in the higher educational degrees only. One can pursue M.Sc programme after an undergraduate degree in general physics or Physics honors from a recognized university.
It is compulsory for a candidate to acquire proficiency in physics and mathematics at the graduate level and then go for Plasma physics as a specialization or an engineer with BE degree, but with aptitude for Plasma physics can also enter the field as a research scholar or a Fellow Research Assistant.
Controlled thermonuclear fusion is one of the main researches in plasma physics. Other field of research includes laser-plasma interactions, plasma spectroscopy and charged particle acceleration by generation of plasma waves.
