The word ‘STEM’ stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. STEM is important because it encompasses every part of our lives. We are surrounded by Science and Technology which is growing in every aspect of our lives. Engineering is not just the basic designs of infrastructure, machinery, roads and bridges, but also handles the challenges of the changing global environmental. Mathematics isn’t limited to calculation, but also in every activity we do in our lives. STEM education tries to incorporate and integrate concepts that are usually taught as separate subjects in school. It makes best efforts to emphasize the application of knowledge to real-life situations.


A lesson or small project or unit in a STEM education is typically based around finding a solution to real-world problems and designed to improve the project-based learning. Besides, every STEM activity provides both practical lessons in mind and hand works. Further, the purpose of such activities is to induce both fun and interesting way of learning for students.

So, exposing school students to STEM through coaching we can reap huge amount of benefits. Such opportunities will push them to develop a passion for it and hopefully pursue a job in a STEM field in future.

Apart from this, STEM education helps to provide connective links between the ethnic and gender gaps found in Mathematics and Science fields. Besides, various initiatives have been established to increase the roles of women and minorities in STEM-related fields. STEM education breaks the traditional gender roles.

In order to compete in a global economy, STEM education and careers must be a top priority. Each and every decision designed must to create an aspect of STEM to understand the implications.

In conclusion, STEM education is fundamental and critical, and helps to create strong scientific society. If STEM education is not implemented, any society will continue to fall in ranking with Mathematics and Science scores and will not be able to maintain its scientific position. STEM education in school can spark an interest in pursuing a STEM career in students. However, teachers do not carry the whole burden to improve and inspire children to pursue. Parents also must play a key role and encourage their children to pursue STEM activities. Such encouragement and awareness in the home, can improve extracurricular activities of the merits of STEM education.
