In past years CAT score used to command 85% weightage in final selection round at FMS Delhi, which has been brought down by 25 points. This year, CAT 2017 score will carry a weight of 60% only while formulating the final merit list at FMS Delhi.
In 2014, the Group Discussion (GD) round was scrapped by FMS Delhi as one of the components in its admission process. This year, the round has been reintroduced and will have a weight of 10% in final merit list.

Final admission round in FMS Delhi will have a maximum of 5% weightage for Extempore Speech. There has been no change brought to the weightage given by FMS Delhi to this round.
Extempore speech will have to be given by candidates during the personal interview round. A random topic will be given during the course of interaction by the panellist taking interview. After thinking for about 10-15 seconds on the topic, the candidate will have to speak for about 2-3 minutes on the same. This round will test the speaking skills of the aspirant. To score well in this round, it is important to have clarity of thought, logical thinking and coherent speech which relates to the topic given. Keeping focus on the topic and not deviating from it during the speech will test the candidate’s managerial abilities as a team leader. Keep in mind to organize thoughts before speaking and not to wander in thoughts during the speech as it would give an impression that one is just trying to pass the time.
The weightage to personal interview has been increased by FMS Delhi from 10% to 15%. This round may last from 7 minutes to 30 minutes, subject to a candidate’s knowledge, ability to express himself and the way of speaking. On an average, the interview round of each candidate will last for around 12-20 minutes. Around 2-3 panellists will be taking the personal interview and this round will have the highest weightage in the final admission round after CAT 2017 scores.
Women candidates who appear for the interview for admission to MBA 2018-20 at FMS Delhi will be given an additional 3% of the maximum aggregate marks while formulating the list of selected candidates. This step is taken to maintain gender parity at the institute.
Personal Interview round of FMS Delhi will be conducted at Delhi only. The candidates from all over the country will have no options to select city for the PI round and will have to come to Delhi for the same, according to the assigned date and session.
After finalizing the shortlisted candidates, FMS Delhi would declare the names for PI in the month of February 2018. The next phase of admission round at FMS is planned to initiate in the month of March/April 2018.
It is important to note that aspirants who have not taken CAT 2017 will not be considered for admission at FMS Delhi. The candidates will have to carry their original certificates and mark sheets at the time of the interview. The final list of candidates selected will be confirmed by FMS Delhi after completing the admission procedure for all candidates.
