Health Physics Eligibility

The eligibility conditions of the candidates who intend to pursue Health/Medical Physics are concerned, a basic education in the physical sciences is necessary; training is also required in other areas. They must basically have an undergraduate degree (with physics and mathematics). Health/Medical physics can be studied in the higher educational degrees only. One can pursue M.Sc programme after an undergraduate degree in general physics or Physics honors from a recognized university.

It is compulsory for a candidate to acquire proficiency in Physical science at the graduate level. Health physicist job requirements may include a bachelor's degree in science or engineering and/or a certain number of years of experience in the practice of radiation safety. With a BS in physics and an MS in nuclear engineering, you may not need any additional training to apply for a health physics job.

  • There are lots of research fellowships / scholarships available for the deserving candidates in India and Abroad. Research scholars / Research Fellows in Health physics. A good PhD programme takes minimum of four years to complete.
  • After the formal twelve year secondary school education, candidates can do graduation in Science stream and then at the Master's and PhD levels, there are several options available to study Health physics. Any aspiring student can do as many courses as possible in Health Physics.

Academic programs in health physics are now offered in several universities. These programs will allow you to specialize in areas such as nuclear engineering, physics, biophysics, medical physics, or radiation biology.
